The blackmail

Back at Alcatra, it was agreed that Catalina cannot stay there and the Perez's farm was suggested. Romero met Antonio and sought his help and he accepted without objection. While discussing his background, Antonio came in and confirmed it based on what the Perezs' told him. He told them that Catalina can stay with the Perezs'.
Carmelo and Marcelo went to open separate account and realised the money was less due to cheque issued for the house at lasloma. After the transaction, Marcelo advised Carmelo to forget Catalina and get another woman but he rejected the advise saying Catalina would continue being his wife as her punishment. He vowed not to give her the divorce. The Negretes were packing when the house seller came with the bounced cheque. He told the confused family that the sale was cancelled. Carmelo got back and was informed but he told themno house until Catalina was found.
Antnio told Miss Antoniete the favour he's doing for the Mendoza and she offered her house. But Sebastian rejected her help and Catalina said that she would go with their decision. Miss Antoniette was furious and vow to tell Carmelo where Catalina was. Antonio took her to hide in the Perez's and informed them that Carmelo was thier son and Catalina thier daughter-in-law. On being told that Carmelo inherited Lupe's wealth, Wakina started plotting on how to get money from him and Catalina overheard.
Jessica finally decided to see Sebastian and in paying for all her evil, decided to go and testify against Carmelo. Back at the penthouse, the police went to arrest Carmelo for the murder of Emilia. He tried resisting but later went with them to the station. At the station with the help of his lawyer denied knowledge of Emilia's killing. He was then informed there was a witness coming. Jessica came and testified but Carmelo refuted all the allegations. He was released due to no documentary evidence. He told Sebastian he would find Catalina and adopt the baby as his.
Wakina left to see Miss Antoniete and she asked her to stay with Josepha for the night. He treated her with disdain knowing she's greedy, selfcentered and an opportunist. Wakina is geedy while Miss Antoniete was bitter and hateful. Antonio was angry and took the mother home that night. The next morning, Wakina got the address of the penthouse from Catalina and left. They all travelled to Mexico to see Carmelo. Trust Carmelo, he despised her and said she was a poor peasant looking for where to make money. They left but Wakina stayed back in Miss Antoniete's apartment. The next day she went to see Carmelo and told him Catalina was at their farm. Carmelo doubted her but was desperate to get Catalina. Meanwhile when she left, Catalina attempted to run but Antonio's brother stopped her. That next day, Mr Perez helped her escaped. She ran through the bush to the highway. Miss Antoniete saw and helped her to her ranch. She calmed her and drugged her so she cannot escaped again and then called Carmelo in the penthouse to inform him that Catlina was in her ranch. Adela answered and got the message to relay to Carmelo afterward. At the Perezs, Catalina was not found so Carmelo left. On the way, Adela called informing him of the news. He immediately went to the ranch. Antonio came and saw Catalina so he went to the ranch to inform them. Meanwhile Sebastian and Romero went to the Perezs to see Catalina and was told that she ran away so they went in search of her. Carmelo got there when the drug was just wearing off and forcefully carried Catalina away. They stopped at the gas station and Catalina opened the door and ran but Carmelo caught her and brought her back to the van. The police chief saw them and told Carmelo he was wanted for questioning but he demanded for warrant of arrest. The police let him go and Catalina could not say anything because of fear.
Sebastian was told that Catalina was in Miss Antoniete's ranch so he raced to rescue her. The other people got there and was told Carmelo came to take her. Sebastian was informed so they turned back to the city. Back at the penthouse, Carmelo told Catalina she was a prisoner and would not go anywhere no matter what. Alicia came to see her and they all agreed that she should pretend that she had accepted all conditions by Carmelo and resigned to being a loving wife. That at the wedding of Alicia the next day, they would escape. Carmelo came into the room and was told of Catalina's decision so he agreed for her to go for the wedding accompanied by him. When they all left, he held Catalina's throat and threatened her and the baby if she does not behave well.
Sebastian and Gustavo got to the penthouse and there was a fight between Sebastian and Carmelo. Catalina came out and told Sebastian to leave and go see Alicia as she was staying with Carmelo her husband.
Wakina came to blackmail Carmelo that if he does not want to give her money, she would tell people that they are his parents.
