Catalina marries Carmelo

When Lupe regained consciousness, he still insisted on seeing his children, Sebastian and Martina but Carmelo lied to him that they died in an accident on the way from the city to alcatraz Ranch. While at it Marcelo came into the room and corroborated what Carmelo said and Lupe was shattered and hysterical. He did not believe their story. This is going to be a major problem for them. The nurse came in and a deal was struck with her to ensure Lupe's confinement as a mental case for a huge settlement.

Patricia and Silvia quarrelled about her obsession with Eduardo. Patricia advised Silvia to forget Eduardo and not be stupid but Silvia fired back that she is jealous because she has no boyfriend and has not been married. Before stomping out of the gym, Patricia countered that sick and possessive women like Silvia are the ones making men to treat women with disdain.
Chuchu called Romero to find out if Sebastian has been told their suspicion of Lupe being alive and held by Carmelo but Romero said no. He said Sebastian is not happy but depressed about a lot of things so he has not told him.
Rufina, Petra and Josefa finally discussed this well kept secret that has disintegrated and created havoc in the Mendoza family in particular and the whole town in general. Petra confirmed that Sebastian is Lupe's son because she did not switched the babies as instructed by Antoniete. At that time, Antoniete showed up to take Josefa home. When Josefa left, Petra confessed to Rufina that Carmelo is Lupe's illegitimate son. She decided to hide his paternity by claiming that he is her cousin's son to save him from rejection.
Carmelo came to the town to get the signed document from Chuchu. Chuchu asked if Lupe's body is found and Carmelo quickly change the subject saying he is late for his wedding in Mexico. Meanwhile Catalina is crying in Alicia house while Gustavo is desperately going around her friends to find out why she decided to marry the despicable foreman turned heir. He was in luck when Luis told him Catalina is marrying in exchange for the return of Alcatraz to Sebastian. The hour finally came. Adela was everywhere arranging flowers and preparing for the wedding. When Gustavo accused her of coldness and insensitivity towards her daughters suffering, she brushed it off saying the daughter will get over it. She said the day was her day and the marriage her moment. Even when Catalina called it her funeral, Adela smiled and said the daughter is too sensitive. The Groom and the best man, Marcelo made a grand entry and the wedding commenced. The wedding was underway when Gustavo rushed in to stop it. Painfully, Sebastian had to witness the wedding and even commented in his heart how beautiful Catalina was in her wedding dress. Gustavo was about to reveal the blackmail but was stopped by Carmelo who ordered that they should have a talk in private. The talk ended in blackmail again. Carmelo asked for his consent and quietness in exchange for his kindness towards his daughter. He threatened to be a wicked and abusive husband if he does not shut up. When Gustavo came out from the 'talk', he looked defeated and forlorn. The marriage continued and Catalina and Carmelo were pronounced husband and wife. It was time to kiss the bride and Carmelo made a real show of it. Sebastian not willing to stand the humiliation and pain anymore asked for the documents so they can leave but Carmelo refused saying he has to stay for the toast and the cutting of the cake. The two wicked friends or female companions of Sebastian seized the opportunity to attack Catalina but Alicia rose to her defense. After the toast, it was time to cut the cake. As the newly wedded cut the cake, the ornamental decoration on it broke and fell off because Catalina was angry with Carmelo. Sebastian seized the opportunity to mock them that just like the ornament, the marriage would soon crumble.
Chuchu got a picture of GuadaLupe Mendoza to show his friend Alvaro the lawyer for confirmation of their suspicion that Lupe was the supposed sick man in Carmelo's apartment in Mexico.
Patricia got the scholarship for his Masters and is leaving for Europe. She came to make up with Silvia. They embraced and promised to continue their friendship.
