Orlando is Emiliano's Dad

When Orlando tells Emiliano that he is his son and Diana (Gudelia) is the woman who ran away with his money and his unborn son, Emiliano is confused, and angrily stomps away. He went in search of Paloma to tell her that he too has a father who is different from Rafael Saenz. Both kept themselves company and stayed late. Not able to go home, Emiliano and Paloma spend the night in Emiliano’s car. In the morning, Fr. Cristobal finds them and promises to help explain things to her aunt Carlota.
As Carlota begins to look for Paloma in the house, Cristobal shows up and helps Paloma sneak into the house. He tells Carlota that he is there that early to see her and talk to her.
When he leaves, Carlota makes Father Benito believes that Fr. Cristobal is the one that is seeking her out and always trying to seduce her. She did not understand that Fr. Cristobal was there because he helped Paloma who spent the night outside. Fr. Benito talks to Cristobal and informs him about Carlota accusation that he is the one harassing her and he is the one who took her to his bedroom.
Thinking she has won, Carlota started taunting Cristobal that she knows something that would force him to do anything she wants. She has gone to the photography laboratory to manipulate the photographs of Father Cristobal and Natalia.
Orlando gets to talk with Emiliano and tries convincing him that he did not hit Diana and truly he is his son.
Paloma overhears Rufina and Carlota talking about her real father. Rufina is really angry that Paloma is suffering from being told a lie about Macarena and her father. Carlota plans to silence Rufina as the woman knows too much already.
Meche not knowing that Rafael was manipulated to go back to his house by Diana who says Orlando is evil and is ready to harm her and Emiliano, went to tell Camila that Rafael has gone back to Diana. Camila blindly believes Meche and was heartbroken. She regrets that she trusted Rafael and that she was going to stop seeing Orlando for him.
Diana runs into Orlando at Emiliano’s office and he confronts her about the said beating. Emiliano calls Paloma to come see him but Carlota forbids her not o go anywhere after she discovered what she and Emiliano did and how Fr. Cristobal became their accomplice. Carlota then goes to see Cristobal and interrupts his conversation with Father Benito. She warns him to stay away from Paloma and not encourage her to lie. Meanwhile Paloma finds a way to leave the house after Carlota left, to go consoles Emiliano at Rafael’s apartment where he is staying. While there together, the doorbell rings and Romina shows up at the door. Paloma hides while Emiliano tries sending Romina away.
Ines is plagued with quilt for helping Diana to lie and accuse Orlando of battery. She is worried and wants to confess but Diana asks her to continue lying for her. Later Carlota is home but Paloma was no where to be found. She then decides to wait for her to return home.
Romina picks up the result of the DNA test and runs into Paloma on the way. She tells her that the result shows that Emiliano is the father of her son.
Diana refuses to sign the divorce papers while Rafael tells her that he may be unable to stop Orlando from telling Emiliano that he is his father.
Rufina overhears Carlota and Romina’s conversation about how they managed to turn the result of the DNA test in Romina’s favor. Romina tells Camila the result of the test and how they should start preparing for her marriage to Emiliano. The agreement was that if the test result is positive that Emiliano is the father then he would marry her to give the baby his name.
Ines left Diana and went to Fr. Cristobal to confess her sins and seek counsel on what to do. Fr. Cristobal convinces her to tell Orlando and Emiliano the truth so she can be free from the quilt.
Rafael and Camila run into each other and had an argument over his betrayal and lies of separating from Diana while he is back home. Rafael explains why he went back but that he is still going ahead with the divorce. When Camila was convinced she allows him to kiss her while Diana that was stalking Rafael watches from afar.
Romina informs Samuel, her father that he is going to be a grandfather because she is pregnant and going to get married soon.
Diana rushes to Emiliano's office to tell him that Camila is Rafael's girlfriend. But Emiliano asks her to leave his office because he is angry with her for lying all those years about his real father. But Emiliano went to informs Rafael that Diana knows about Camila.
Liliana asks Romina how she tampered with the test result while German requests a copy of the DNA test from the clinic
Romina happy that the test is favorable went in search of  Emiliano to inform  him. Emiliano is shocked that the test favours Romina so he agrees to marry Romina.
Orlando proposes marriage to Camila now that Rafael is out of the picture. He succeeds to blackmail Rafael to stay away from her.
Alonso has ended his retreat and decides to come and stay with Natalie in Real DE Monte. He joins the group - Natalie, Fr. Cristobal, Rufina and Dr, Bermudez to investigates Paloma's inheritance. First he searches for the person who Iñaki entrusted the investigation with regarding Paloma’s inheritance. This was after he spoke with Paloma and saw that she is such a sweet girl and that she was really in love with his son Inaki.

Paloma's fake father

When Paloma now stages her own protest of not talking to Carlota until she tells her who her real father is, Carlota has to quickly do something. She got in touch with an actor in Mexico City and paid him handsomely to act as Paloma's father.

The day they left home to go to meet the actor, Rufina was not happy but she can not do anything. They drove to Mexico City and Carlota sat nearby to watch Poor Paloma suffer the worst heartbreak and deceit. The happiness of seeing her so called father diminished immediately the guy starts talking and putting down Macarena. He said he did not belief he's Paloma's father because he was not the only man Macarena was seeing then. When Paloma says Macarena told her that he was in Love with her, he laughed and said it was in her imagination because he was not.  It was a terrible experience for Paloma. She was really hurt  especially when the man tells Paloma that Macarena had other boyfriends and doubts if she is his daughter. She left in anger and tears and told Carlota she never wants to see or hear from her 'father' again. Whew! Carlota was happy that it was money well spent.
Father Cristobal was chosen to become a Bishop. He was super surprised that he was even considered because he did think he qualifies for that elevation. Carlota was informed by Ines that Father Cristobal was considered for Bishopric position in the Church and she was surprised too.
Finally Orlando gets the result of the DNA test and plans to tell Emiliano that he is his father since Diana and Rafael are trying to make him out as the bad person. Diana tries to convince Orlando not to tell Emiliano that he is his father but he refuses
Aaron is desperate to make Paloma his so he visits her and Paloma takes him to see some of her painting in the backyard. When they were alone he tries to rape her. Luckily before he overpowers her, Rufina appears in the verandah to help her. Paloma was visibly shaken and she confided in Angelica. She advised her to report the incident to the Police so he can be punished. Paloma took Angelica's advice and asks her to accompany her to report the case to the Authorities. Aaron was arrested and charge with attempted rape.
Emiliano hears the attempt on Paloma by Aaron so he waited for him. He attacks him.and a fight breaks out but they were restrained later.
Camila decides to forget Rafael and go live with Orlando since Diana is not ready to give him that divorce because she does not want him to go be with the new woman.
Paloma vows to never again believe what Carlota tells her. Carlota tries to stop her from pressing charges against Aaron because of the scandal it will cause.
Aaron calls Romina and demands she does something to take  him out of jail or he will tell German that the baby she is expecting is his.
Ines throws Angelica out of the house when she found out that she helped Paloma filed a complaint against Aaron.
Carlota visits Cristobal in his room while he sleeps in the night. Carlota is desperate and sick but she does not know.
Diana tries to convince Rafael to come back home claiming she and Emiliano need his protection and love now that Orlando is threatening exposure. When the coercion did not work, she invited Ines to come and hit her severally and she would show people that Orlando did it.  She needed the bruises to convince Rafael and her son not to abandon her and to also confirms her lies that Orlando is extremely dangerous. She succeeded because Rafael saw it and went straight to confront Orlando.
Rufina confesses to Father Mateo that she has been covering up Carlota’s lies. She proceeds to tell him what has been happening and what she suspects is still happening
Ines went to plead with Paloma to withdraw her complaint against Aaron. She even knelt for Paloma but she forbids her not to  and agrees to go withdraw the case. Paloma withdrew the case and Aaron was released from jail. As soon as he was out, Aaron leaves the city
Carlota not wanting Cristobal to be made a Bishop, went to confess to Fr. Benito that Christobal is the Father of Paloma so he cannot be made a Bishop.
Emiliano when he hears what Orlando purportedly did to Diana, furiously attacked Orlando for hitting his mother. Orlando denies the allegation and tells Emiliano that he is his father. Orlando talks to Angelica who is now leaving in the  back room in his house, about Diana and her lies. He vows that he did not touch her and Angelica believes him. Emiliano tells Paloma that Orlando is his dad
With Romina's pregnanacy and the soon coming wedding, Carlota advises Paloma to tell Romina about her relationship with Emiliano.
German tries to extort money from Doctor Bermudez with Javier’s will when he went to seek his help in knowing the content of the will.
Natalia confided in Cristobal the conviction of  Alonso her husband that Carlota has something to do with Iñaki’s death. Cristobal became worried that Carlota might do something to Paloma once he is appointed as bishop and he leaves Real del Monte.

Romina threatens abortion

 Romina confirms to Paloma that Emiliano is the father of the baby when Paloma visits her to verify the story of her pregnancy.
Carlota tells another lie to cover the lies she has been telling against Macarena that she was a loose woman. She tells Paloma that her father abandoned her when he found out that Macarena was pregnant and her father is alive.
German knows he is the father of the baby that Romina is expecting so he demands that she tells Emiliano that the baby is his but Romina refuses and threatens to expose him hat he abused her when she was a minor. German afraid to go to jail, leaves her but Liliana knows that German is the father of that baby and not Emiliano.
In desperation to see Paloma, Emiliano disguises as a nun to look for her at school. Since the revelation that Romina is pregnant with Emiliano's baby, Paloma has vows not to have anything to do with him. Emiliano has tried talking to her so when she refuses he has to disguise as a nun, Mother Superior catches them but leaves the matter to Cristobal to handle.  Cristobal convinces Paloma to hear Emiliano out and she listens and had a talk with him. They ends their quarrel and make up. Liliana tells Paloma of her suspicions about German being the father of Romina’s baby and she tells Emiliano also her suspicions.
After making up with Paloma, Emiliano has to go to assure Romina that he’ll assume responsibilities for his son but will never marry her. Romina threatens never to let him see the baby if he doesn’t marry her but Emiliano insists that he will never marry without love. Romina uses the only means she knows which is manipulation on Paloma. She tells her that she’ll have an abortion if Emiliano does not marry her because she does not want to be a single mom at her age. She tries to make Paloma feel guilty and it works. Paloma breaks up with Emiliano again. But depression sets in and Rufina knowing that mood reminds her of what Macarena told her before she died about relationships. Paloma remembers what Liliana tells her about Romina and German and she seeing them kiss so she rushes to see German to know the truth about Romina’s pregnancy. German refuses to admit anything to Paloma and asks her to leave. Romina on her part, tries to get Rafael to talk Emiliano into marrying her but he declines. Paloma seeks Fr. Cristobal and tells him about Romina decision. He advises her to tell Emiliano that Romina is planning to have an abortion.
Carlota continues her attack on Cristobal so she goes to talk to Natalia about him and her doubts about his Priesthood.
Emiliano goes to see German at his house and finds that he was not at home so he searches the place and finds Romina’s green blouse in his drawer. Emiliano goes to see Romina to confront her about the shirt she left at German’s place. He tells her he knows about her relationship with German but she denies
Carlota tells Paloma that Macarena lied to her and that her father is still alive. Carlota and Rufina refuse to tell her who her real father is.
Diana wants to know the woman whom Rafael is seeing and who he is leaving her for. 
Paloma when  visiting Natalie was surprised by the information she is getting about Cristobal knowing her family before now.
Romina desperate to tie Emiliano down asks for Carlota's help with the paternity test.  She wants the test to prove that Emiliano is the father since Emiliano has agreed to marry her if the result proves he is the father. After reproaching her, Carlota agrees to help because she wants Emiliano to leave Paloma by force. On the day of the test, Camila, Romina and Emiliano go to a clinic for the test. Carlota follows after and bribes one of the workers in the lab to change the result.
Father Mateo tells Cristobal that he will be transferred and that Father Benito will be coming to replace him.

Camila breaks up with Orlando because of Romina's pregnancy and her feelings for Rafael which she has not gotten over.
Natalia, Cristobal, Rufina and Doctor Bermudez  start meeting in Natalie place to plan on how they would investigate Paloma’s inheritance and Carlota's involvement. Rodolfo threatens German with exposure of his probable paternity if he doesn’t give him the information about the will and Paloma’s inheritance.
Diana shows up at Rafael company's launch party and that causes an uneasiness between Rafael and Camila. Both left and went into Rafael's office and Diana went in search of Rafael. She almost catches Rafael and Camila in the office. Camila hides but her shawl was on the seat. Diana sees it but Rafael quickly leads her out of the room and sends Joel his partner to get Camila out of the  office. He later introduced Camila as his anonymous partner at the party.

Romina is pregnant

  Romina and Aaron still plan to separate Paloma and Emiliano. Camila tries to patch things up with her daughter but to no avail.

Macarena's death

With the return of Cristobal, the evil juice in Carlota raised again. Macarena passed out in the Church when she saw Father Cristobal who was supposedly dead and was rushed to the Hospital. Dr Bermude, her doctor and boyfriend was shocked and sought to know what kind of excitement caused her to relapse but no one could say. Paloma has become close to Father Cristobal so she invited him to come see Macarena in the hospital.
Romina reports Angelica to Mother superior saying she is biased and using her  relationship with the students to get close to their family and therefore should be fired.  Romina is referring to the relationship between Angelica and her mother, Camila. When Angelica was confronted with the allegation, she did not deny it so Mother Superior fired her.
Rodolfo asks Macarena in the hospital when she's strong enough if she really has a daughter she gave away and if that child is Paloma and she confirms it by telling him everything about her life. Since she did not deny it, she and Rodolfo makes up.When everyone left the room, Father Cristobal went back into Macarena's room and they rekindled their romance. But Paloma did not know as she came in and met them talking. She was so oblivious of the undercurrent between the two lovers. Father Cristobal was really disturbed that Carlota lied to him and when he confronted her she said she did it for love. Macarena almost passed out when she learnt that Cristobal was a Reverend Father but said her love for him will not wane. She also said she will respect his new calling. With Macarena reconnecting with Cristobal after fainting at the clinic, rushed to the hospital and discharged, the stage for Battle royale between the two sisters was set.
Rodolfo then tells Cristobal that Carlota had told him a family secret they had been keeping for years. Funny that the secret Dr Bermudez is referring to has to do with Fr. Cristobal. With the arrival of Cristobal and the proposal of Dr Bermudez, Macarena plans to leave Real del Monte with Paloma.
Paloma and Macarena are not the only one leaving but on Emiliano's part, he is staying despite Diana’s request. At least he has to ensure, Paloma is okay. He talks to Paloma about Macarena and pleads with her to hear her out. Paloma agrees and forgives Macarena and calls her “mom.” But she says she would not want the people in the community to know that she is her mother so they have to still continue the 'Aunt/Niece relationship'.
Since Camila does not want any scandal, she advises Rafael to stay away from her until he is divorced from Diana. Rafael angry left but found out later that Camila and Orlando are together.
Carmen gives Macarena an envelope containing Iñaki’s letter investigating Paloma's inheritance. Inaki reveals in that letter that Paloma was left a fortune by her departed parent. Macarena left the letter inside Paloma's bag but she removed it and drop inside one of the drawers. Carlota not accepting the fact that Cristobal loves her sister, tried again to show her love to him but he rejects her again. He told her that even if she is the only woman, he would not love her. Carlota swears that she’ll make Cristobal pay for rejecting her.

But Father Cristobal could not stay away from Macarena as she requested. He went to meet his mentor to discuss the issue but came back and resolved to leave the Priesthood to marry Macarena, the love of his life. Macarena was overjoyed that night when they met in the garden under the moonlight and he proposed to her. She made him promise to take Paloma with them. With the Love of her life back in her life, Macarena boldly challenged Carlota.
Diana desperately tries to find an excuse not to go to Emiliano’s party so she went to eat a dish that will cause her allergy despite Ines advise. When it was time for the factory to be opened, Romina standing in for Diana cuts the ribbon against Emiliano’s will. Trust Romina not to let attention shift from her. Emiliano was angry with  Diana for sending Romina to take her place in the ribbon-cutting while Camila tells Rafael that they should stop thinking about the possibility of a relationship since he isn’t free.
Macarena remembers Cristobal’s proposal while Rodolfo tells her his plans after they get married. Carlota blackmails Macarena to stop seeing Cristobal or she will tell Paloma who her father is. Macarena dares her and informs her they will be leaving Real de Monte for good. She called Camilla who went to look for Romina in the city of Mexico but decided that she will tell her the news when she arrives from Mexico.
Romina feeling the break up of her relationship with Emiliano, felt she has to go look for her father Samuel. The lazy Samuel Montragon was ejected by his friend from his apartment. I wonder why the guy is always being cast for dubious roles. In RAFAELA, he was the bar owner who kidnapped Rafaela's sister for rejecting his love. In Mexico City, Romina was with German Altamirano to search for her father. Rufina advised that Father Cristobal be told that Paloma is his daughter but Macarena said no and made Rufina promised not to tell anyone. The following day, Father Cristobal was looking for a perfect time to tell Father Mateo that he is quitting Priesthood when he was called that disaster has happened.
That morning in her happiness, Macarena answered the phone call from Father Cristobal and Carlota listened in in another room to their plan for the future. She was furious and rush out when Macarena dropped the phone and attacked her. Macarena started running away from her when she saw her fury but she caught up with and push her down through the glass. It was Rufina  that came in and raised the alarm and Macarena was rushed to the hospital.

The Espinoza de los Monteros' secret is out

Macarena confronts Dr. Bermudez in the hospital to demand explanation for being stood up and he explains that Carlota told him everything about her and her love child Paloma.
Gudelia or Diana, nearly runs into Orlando again while Paloma and Dr. Bermudez welcome Macarena back home from the hospital. While Macarena was thinking about Christobal, the Doctor surprised her with an engagement ring and promises to leave Real del Monte together with Paloma to stay away from Carlota. Macarena was surprised too because all these years that the Doctor has been treating her, she never knew he was in love with her.

Angelica discovers that Dario needs her badly as misfortune has befallen him. She remembers how in love she was with him and how he used her. Dario deceived her because he was in love with someone else.
Emiliano suggests to Cristobal that Paloma could help them with women who have problems with addiction while Orlando reveals his feelings towards Camila. When Father Cristobal accepts that Paloma could work as a volunteer in the church, Emiliano went to give the good news. Romina sees him going to Paloma's so she calls Aaron to immediately visits and and interrupts the lovers. Aaron not willing to let Emiliano outdo him when it comes to Paloma attention, proposes to Paloma that they become a couple for real. Paloma now realises that she has to end her little agreement with him.
Eventually, Rufina meets with Cristobal and tells him all that she knows about Carlota, her obsessive love for him and her determination to separate him from Macarena.
In order to destroy the trust and ruin the partnership Gudelia or Diana diverts Orlando’s money to a ghost bank account.
Romina to keep up the face lies every time to Paloma about her relationship with Emiliano. She even lies about dinner date.

Macarena and Cristobal meet at the church. Rodolfo tells Cristobal that Carlota had told him a family secret they had been keeping for years.
Arrival of Cristobal changes everything for the Espinoza Monteros. Macarena plan with Paloma to leave Real del Monte. Diana also realizes that her cover would be blown except she leaves immediately with Emiliano. She tells Emiliano but he refuses to leave and decides to stay despite her request.
Carlota in Mexico City, sees Alonso and Amalia in a hotel and calls Natalia to tell her that her husband is with another woman. Natalia visits the hotel and caught her husband with another woman. Carlota was in the lobby and saw when she entered and when she rushed out.
Eventually Rafael finds out that Camila is his anonymous partner while Romina rushes to German after learning that Camila kept her father’s letters to her. Paloma sees German and Romina kissing and plans to tell Emiliano while Macarena asks Atty. Roj to show her her brother's will since she was looking for a way to pay Paloma's her studies.
Cristobal pays Carlota a visit to confront her on her lies to him several years ago but she has not come back from Mexico City. The Priest even excused Cristobal from mass and other church activities so he can meditate on the happenings in his life. He is still torn between his vocation and love for Macarena. When Carlota returns to Real del Monte, Macarena reproaches her for a lifetime of lies and deceit. Carlota vows to take Cristobal away from his vocation.
Paloma goes to Ines’ place to look for Angelica but finds Aaron instead who then invited her to stay for dinner. while Paloma confesses to Emiliano that she loves him. Diana refuses to sign her divorce papers. Meantime, Macarena decides to ask another lawyer if it’s possible for her to see Javier’s will while Aaron makes up his mind to take Paloma away from Emiliano.
Romina runs away from home and goes to stay in Diana's house with the hope of being close to Emiliano. But Emiliano scatters Romina’s plan as he sleeps at German’s house and calls Camila to tell her where her daughter is.

Paloma overhears Carlota and Macarena fighting over a family secret and learns who her real mother is. At last the secret that has been haunting Macarena is out. The dominion that Carlota has over her is broken. Paloma was shocked and angry at the same time. She demanded to know her real father and Macarena told her that he's already dead. Carlota takes advantage of the situation and convinces Paloma that she is the good person who has not lied to her but has been taking care of her and protecting her all along. Paloma was devastated and went to be alone. She faints in the park as she is overwhelmed by so much emotion. Chava saw her and rushed to tell Emiliano who rushes to her side and carries her to German’s house where he is staying.

Arcadia was out of the Iparraguirre's House but still interested in what happens there.

Arcadia knew Carlota was up to no good with the purchase of that herbal tea so she monitors and waits. Meanwhile, Paloma helps Macarena to dress up for a date with Dr Rodolfo Bermudez. Since Carlota was not allowed to press charges against Iñaki for running away with a minor ie Paloma and demanded by Alonso to drop the charges, she has to ensure she keeps the lovers around so they do not run away again. She surprisingly gives them permission to get married. Orlando meets Camila coincidentally and instantly falls in love with her but she has becomes Rafael’s anonymous business partner. She now has two men that she is interested in and when she told Romina that she wants to rebuild her life by falling in love again she got angry. Romina refuses to accepts that she is grown now and does not need her mother to babysit her. She started looking for her father to stop Camila from starting a new relationship. She hired a detective. It was in the cause of the crisis between them and Carlota that Iñaki learns about Paloma’s inheritance and decides to investigate.

If he had known, he would have left investigating or done it discreetly. This investigation and his gut to make one of the Monteros happy, caused his death. While Paloma was happy to be getting married, Romina gets expelled from from School. Carlota brewed a special tea for Iñaki as he formally asks Paloma’s hand in marriage and that caused heart failure so the happiest day of Paloma turns nightmarish as Iñaki dies in her arms.

With Carlota's convincing, Carmen skip autopsy that would have shown the cause of death and have the body cremated quickly.

Emiliano and Carmen, Inaki's mother crying Romina suspects Carlota has something to do with Iñaki’s death and tells Paloma but she refused to believe. Meanwhile Cristobal returns to Mexico City. Arcadia blackmailed Carlota as she threatens to tell Iñaki’s parents everything she knows. Knowing the type of person Carlota is, Arcadia wrote a letter to be given to Alonso in the event she dies. Meanwhile, Romina overhears that Emiliano is in love with Paloma and she blames her mother for not supporting her relationship with Emiliano. Rufina finds out that Arcadia is dead and that Carlota’s car had a dent. And that dent was from the knock on Arcadia. Finally, Emiliano breaks up with Romina. Paloma decides to send the engagement ring that Iñaki gave her back to Carmen. Finally Atty Roxas finds a way to change the clause in the will of Paloma’s parents which extends the age that Paloma will come into her inheritance. Diana rebukes Emiliano for breaking up with Romina while Romina believes that Paloma has betrayed her. With the death of Inaki, Paloma wants to stay away from love but Emiliano will not allow that so she puts up a show to make him believe that Aaron is her boyfriend.

The beginning - In the Name of Love

Sweet Paloma Espinoza de los Monteros celebrates her birthday with her parents Javier and Sagrario and Carlota and Macarena were there too. While in Romina Mondragon house, Romina pleads with her mother, Camila to call her father so that the lazy man can attend her birthday party without knowing that the no-good-for-nothing bum she calls a father has left them for another woman. With the party done, the next day, Paloma’s parents leaves her with her Aunts to attend the wedding of Natalia and Cristobal in Mexico City. With Carlota's bad attitude towards her, Paloma was desperate to leave and go back home so she asks Sagrario to come pick her. On their way to come pick her, Javier and Sagrario meet an accident and both died at the hospital. Who knows if Carlota had a hand in the accident. With the death of her parents, Paloma has to remains in the care of her aunts Macarena and Carlota. Trust Carlota not to allow opportunity to blame others for misfortune that has befallen them pass as she blames Paloma for the death of her parents and takes control of her life. For Romina, she blames her mother for not calling her father but Camila settles things with Romina’s father, Samuel and he leaves the country with the other woman.

Eight years later Paloma and Romina have grown. Emiliano Sáenz Noriega returns to Real del Monte and runs into Paloma and Romina. Diana happy that her son has return plans a welcome party and introduces him to Romina. Romina on her part, starts planning how to make him her boyfriend before he changes his mind. She lost focus on school and her grades starts declining. At Emiliano’s welcome home party, she was all over him, kissing him and making everyone believes there are lovers already. Diana is very happy about the relationship but Emiliano was not and it annoys him. He then asks his mother to stop trying to control his life but she would not listen. Paloma escapes from home to join Romina and Emiliano for a reunion.

During the reunion, Paloma meets Inaki. He was taken in by her beauty and simplicity and invites her for a cup of coffee. During the date, they were surprise that Carlota shows up in the coffee-shop. Cristobal after his clean up from alcohol addiction, dedicated his life to God and became a Priest. He has to be transferred to another parish and in the process met with Natalia and asks for her forgiveness. With the incessant ill treatment from Carlota and Macarena's inability to defend her, Paloma always find refuge in Romina's house and at a point went back to her old house and decided to stay there. They searched for her and Romina refused to tell but they found her eventually. Carlota made Paloma suffer and in order to ensure strict discipline, enrolled her in a school ran by nuns but with Romina and Liliana much later, life was bearable. With Paloma's love life picking up and the relationship with Inaki getting stronger, Carlota plots to end it but Macarena tries to find ways to let them meet often. Unfortunately Macarena's ill health often, she could not protect them so Carlota finally discovers Paloma's involvement with Iñaki and have her grounded. Not satisfied that grounding Paloma will work, Carlota hatches a plan to hook Paloma up with Aaron. This did not stop Paloma from seeing Inaki so Carlota went physical with Paloma. Macarena was angry and made her own plan to stop Carlota from ruining Paloma’s life like she ruined hers. Cristobal gets a word from Natalia about the Espinoza de los Monteros. So he was not ready to be posted to Real De Monte when the time came. Carlota carried out her threat and separated the lovers with fake letters purportedly written by them to one another. Paloma and Iñaki discover the truth about their rumored breakup so they planned to marry as soon as possible. Inaki's mother Carmen returns but Arcadia, their maid has already sold out to Carlota.
